Bank of Sullivan Ball Park to Receive Additional Renovations in Fall

June 25, 2012
Sullivan Eagles

In the fall, renovations will be made to SHS's Bank of Sullivan Ball Park to improve the playing surface.  As part of the first step of improving the playing surface, late last fall the infield was regraded and sod was added.  Additionally, a new mound that meets NCAA and MLB specifications was constructed courtesy of Boast Enterprises.

This fall the infield will take on a new look as the baselines between home/first and home/third will have grass added.  Below are pictures of Clemson and Albion College's baseball fields which have the same playing surface that SHS will soon have put into place.  The addition of grass will help with drainage and improve the overall playing surface.  The goal is to decrease the amount of games that are delayed and cancelled due to rain as well as improve the surface that SHS baseball players compete on.  This fall the infield and surrounding areas of the infield will also be overseeded.
