Goldstein showed no sign of nerves, calmly using her sand wedge to chip in a shot from about 20-yards on the 10th hole and sinking two other birdie putts during her round to shoot a 1-under-par 71 and take a one-shot lead into today's final round over Orlando Timber Creek senior Paige Lyle.

"It always feels good to stand on the top going into the final round especially with the conditions we played in," said Goldstein, making her first state tournament appearance. "When I teed off, the temperature was in the 40s and there was a pretty steady wind of about 30 miles per hour. It was tough conditions."

Cypress Bay Weston, led by Valentina Haupt's 78, enters the final in second-place in the team standings with a 333 — 11 shots behind leader Lake Mary.

St. Thomas Aquinas is 10th (355), Lake Worth Park Vista is 11th (363) and Loxahatchee Seminole Ridge is 16th.

The conditions were much the same in the Class 2A boys tournament, being played at Deer Island Golf and Lake Club in Tavares.
