Home » Girls' Volleyball NewsAkinradewo plays integral part in defeat over ChinaAugust 2, 2012 St. Thomas Aquinas High SchoolMuch like the men's basketball team, the U.S. women's volleyball team continues to barrel through the group stage unscathed. Wednesday's victim was China, who entered the match undefeated just like the United States. Once again former St. Thomas Aquinas star Foluke Akinradewo played an integral part in the 26-24, 25-16, 31-29 win. Akinradewo had eight spikes and tied for the team high with seven blocks. The win over the Chinese basically ensures the United States will finish pool play as the top team in Group B. The U.S. has two matches left against Serbia on Friday and Turkey on Sunday, two teams that have combined for just one win six matches.
