17th Annual McDonald's® "City-Suburban Showdown" Announced

Lisle, IL --- The Integrity Group confirmed today that its' nationally recognized McDonald's "City-Suburban Showdown" Boys H.S. Basketball event, which has averaged close to 7,000 fans, will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2012.  The site will once again be the UIC Pavilion, and the triple-header format will remain.

In Game 1 (4:30), two schools take their Hockey rivalry (split semi-final wins the last two years) to the court, as Chicago-St. Rita battles Winnetka-New Trier.  The "Mustangs" (12-15) are young, return a strong nucleus, and feature Sr. A.J. Avery (PF, 6-6), a top-rated player who missed 21 games due to a wrist injury.  The "Trevians" (16-12) return four starters, including highly regarded Austin Angel who missed 10 games with a ruptured appendix, and will be lead by Sr. Connor Boehm (F, 6-7).  Both teams figure to be highly ranked and greatly improved.
Game 2 (6:30) features a rematch of the 11th City-Suburban Showdown OT thriller, as Gurnee-Warren seeks to avenge its 71-70 loss to Maywood-Proviso East.

Game 3 (8:30) will match two teams that figure to be Pre-season Top-5, as De La Salle Institute meets defending, and back-to-back 4A champion, Simeon Career Academy.

Fans expect to see some of the top talent in Illinois, if not the nation, and last season's "showdown" was no exception as two of the "losing" teams would go on to win state titles (Rock Island - 3A, and Simeon - 4A).  In Game 1, La Grange-Lyons Township squeaked past fellow West Suburban Conference power, Maywood-Proviso East, by the score of 55-53.  Game 2, saw Morgan Park defeat Rock Island 57-54, in a battle of "Mr. Basketball" finalists (Chasson Randle tied, with Wayne Blackshear right behind).  The finale featured the top-two rated teams in the state, and top-16 in the nation, as then undefeated #2 Lisle-Benet Academy (26-0) handled the defending 4A Champion #1 Chicago-Simeon Career Academy (23-2), by the score of 58-54 in front of 8,184 fans.

Tickets are priced at $13 for Adults and $11 for Students (18 and under) and may be purchased at St. Rita High School. St. Rita will receive a portion of every ticket sold at the school. All seats are reserved and sold on a "First Come, First Served" basis, so get your tickets early for the best seats. More information regarding the tickets will be posted closer to the event and when they become available.com

The Integrity Group previously announced the teams for its' 15th Annual "H. S. Hoops Showdown" which will be held Saturday, January 21, 2012, at the Sears Centre Arena, in Hoffman Estates, IL.   In Game 1 (4:30) of the triple-header format, it's Huntley (25-5) vs. Elgin (22-7) in a rematch of their Jacobs Sectional battle (won by Huntley 57-46).  Game 2 (6:30), features the "Rivals" matchup as Geneva (12-17) battles Batavia (13-13).  They will be followed by Game 3 (8:30), when the top-two projected teams in the Western Suburbs go head-to-head as Downers Grove South (25-4) collides with Gurnee-Warren (31-4).
