Review 2013-14:

The Lady Wildcats varsity basketball team has been a program in the building stages for four years. All the time and hard work over the past four years came to fruition in last years’ exciting season. Led by our first senior class, Amy cowling, Monique Hawkins, Meagan ivy and Logan smith, we finished a successful season with a record of 28-2. After beating McIntosh in the 1A area championship, Akron High School in the Sub Region Round, Geneva County High School in the first round of the Region Tournament, the Lady Wildcats had a tough match up with Brantley High School for the South Region Championship. Our season ended in a hard fought, heart breaking overtime loss to Brantley. Despite the loss, our season was extremely successful and stamped in history plenty of firsts for our program. Our team finished the regular season as the #1 Ranked 1A school and finished the postseason as one of the top eight teams in the state.

After the season concluded Junior Jewel Hill was selected to the Second Team All State Team by the Alabama Sports Writers Association, First Team All Region by the Mobile Press Register, Female Player of the Year 1A-4A by the Mobile Optimist Club and was selected to play in AHSAA All Star game for the South Team. Freshman Ashley Chapman was selected for the All Region Honorable Mention by the Mobile Press Register.

Preview 2014-15

Hard work, determination, tenacity and supportive parents  will help guide the girls in the 14-15 season. Their commitment to improving started with early practices during the summer. This summer, players developed and fine tuned their basketball skills as well as worked on communication and teamwork. As the season approaches, the players eagerly wait to demonstrate their off season commitment.

The Lady Wildcats varsity basketball team will see a lot of new faces on the basketball court. Led by Junior Ashley Chapman, the Wildcats look to reload with plenty of youth. With only one senior, there is unlimited and untapped potential as St. Luke's moves into 2A competition. Speed and Defensive pressure will be the keys to success this year as the Lady Wildcats will defend all 84 feet of the court.
