St. Luke's has participated in competitive archery for the past six years. Last school year, there were approximately 70 4th through 9th grade students participating in local and out of town archery tournaments. St. Luke's was able to field two competitive teams that competed both individually as well as in team competition. The Elementary team consisted of 4th through 6th graders and the Middle School Team consisted of 7th and 8th graders. We also had several high school students participate individually in the Regional Tournament.

St. Luke's participated in several local archery tournaments, and well as hosting their own tournament. In addition, there were two adult classes that were highly attented, as well as adult competition in the SLES Archery Tournament. The St. Luke's adults placed 1st and 3rd in their division, as well as several SLES students receiving medals in their respective divisions.

The Regional Archery Tournament was held at Alma Bryant High School, where St. Luke's Elementary Team finished 5th and the Middle School Team finished 4th, which, with their high team scores, qualified both teams to compete in the State Tournament held in Birmingham. At the State Tournament, the Elementary Team placed 7th and the Middle School Team placed 5th, with both teams scoring their all time best scores. As a result of these high scores, both St. Luke's teams were invited to attend the National Archery Tournament that was held in Kentucky. Unfortunately, neither team was able to attend Nationals due to scheduling conflicts.

We are looking forward to another fun and successful year in competitive archery. This coming school year, SLES plans on fielding three teams: Elementary (grades 4th-6th), Middle School (grades 7th-8th) and High School (grades 9th and up). PLEASE COME JOIN THE FUN!
