Luke Phillips ran for 97 yards and two touchdowns and also threw two scoring strikes toJohn David Favors as St. Luke's opened the season with a convincing 35-6 win at McIntosh.

Phillips and Favors connected on a 13-yard touchdown to start the second quarter and combined on a 45-yard score in the final seconds of the half to give the Wildcats (1-0) a 14-0 lead. For good measure, Favors also stripped the ball from a McIntosh ballcarrier and returned the fumble 75 yards to put St. Luke's up 21-0 less than three minutes into the third quarter.

The Demons (0-1) answered by returning the kickoff 65 yards for their only score of the night.

Phillips ran for touchdowns of 14 and 54 yards in the third quarter to provide the final margin.

St. Luke's was efficient on the ground, rolling up 202 yards on 33 carries. Phillips was 5-for-9 passing for 125 yards.
