Baseball: St. Luke's downs Davidson, 8-7, in nine innings

St. Luke's had to go nine innings to defeat host Davidson, 8-7.

The two teams tied 5-5 in regulation and then St. Luke's scored three runs in the top of the ninth and held on as Davidson rallied for two in the bottom of the ninth.

Luke Phillips led the way with two hits and three RBIs for St. Luke's (18-4). Danny Haskell had two hits and two runs scored and John David Favors had three hits and an RBI.

Paul Williamson (4-1) got the win for St. Luke's.

Ryan Hughes had three hits and two RBIs for Davidson while Jeremy McBride had two hits including a two-run home run.

Landon Presnall got the loss for Davidson.
