Baseball: Cook drives in game-winner in St. Luke's win over St. James, 3-2

Brandon Cook had two of St. Luke's four hits and drove in the game-wining run in the Wildcats' 3-2 victory over St. James in the Jason Armstrong Memorial Baseball Tournament at Patterson Field in Montgomery.

Drew Dismukes had the other two hits for the Wildcats (8-2), including a leadoff triple in the second inning.

St. Luke's tied the game 2-2 in the fourth, then Cook drove home the winning run in the bottom of the sixth.

Dismukes (3-0) also threw a complete-game six-hitter to pick up the win, giving up two runs and no walks while striking out 10.

K.J. Mendelsohn went 2 for 3 with a double for the Trojans (6-4). Jonathan Greene went six innings, giving up two earned runs on four hits.

Brandon Cook went 2 for 4 with a double and four RBIs to power St. Luke's to a 5-3 win over Decatur in the Jason Armstrong Memorial Baseball Classic at Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery.

Cook also pitched 4 2/3 innings, allowing two earned runs and striking out two while picking up the win for St. Luke's (7-2). Paul Williams picked up his first save of the season, giving up one hit and no runs in 2 1/3 innings.

Tanner Burns was 1 for 3 with an RBI for the Red Raiders (2-5). John Michael Harbin gave up four runs on two hits and four walks in 2 2/3 innings.

 

NOTE: Wildcats also beat Prattville Christian 9-4 on Saturday
