MOBILE, Alabama – Postseason play seems to bring out the best in the area’s top players. That was the case again this past week in the area tournaments. Here are your weekly top girls boys performances, which are based and judged on games reported to al.com or covered by the Press-Register staff. Coaches are encouraged to call in all games as soon they are over to AL.com’s statewide call-in center at 1-800-283-4024.

5. Victoria Woodruff had 19 points and 12 rebounds as host Cottage Hill Christian defeated T.R. Miller 55-22 in the Class 3A, Area 1 championship.

4. Emani Mhoon scored 23 points to lead UMS-Wright over Escambia County in the Class 4A, Area 1 tournament, 45-32.

3. Amber Jackson scored 29 points, including six 3-pointers, to lead Davidson over Baker 57-43 in the Class 6A, Area 1 tournament.

2. Jewel Hill scored 25 points to go with six assists as No. 2 St. Luke's advanced to the finals of the Class 1A, Area 1 tournament with a 56-16 win against J.U. Blacksher.

1. Angel Carthen had 16 points and 13 rebounds as Class 5A No. 5 Faith Academy beat Vigor 44-33 in the Class 5A, Area 1 championship game.

FAN VOTING: Cottage Hill’s Callie Jones garnered 54 percent of the High Five record 63,462 votes in last week’s fan poll. Jones finished with 34,273 total votes. B.C. Rain’s Jamya Williams was second with 45 percent (28,333).
