Coastal Alabama Girls Basketball High-Five: Top performances for the week of Jan. 30 (poll)

MOBILE, Alabama – Winter Storm Leon limited the high school basketball schedule this week, but it didn’t limit the number of impressive performances since last Wednesday. Here are your weekly top five performances, which are based and judged on games reported to al.com or covered by the Press-Register staff. Coaches are encouraged to call in all games as soon they are over to AL.com’s statewide call-in center at 1-800-283-4024.

5. Amber Jackson scored 25 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Davidson over host Alma Bryant in a Class 6A, Area 1 game, 56-38.

4. Jewel Hill scored 24 points and Class 1A No. 2 St. Luke's stayed perfect in Area 1 play with a 62-40 home win over Marengo.

3. Gabby George scored 34 points, including eight 3-pointers, to lead Patrician Academy to a 55-48 win over visiting Wilcox Academy.

2. Alexis Casher scored 22 points with 15 rebounds as Theodore defeated host Baker 55-44 in a Class 6A, Area 1 game.

1. Tyler Phelion continued her impressive play with 26 points, 10 rebounds and three blocked shots as the Leopards pulled away from host McGill-Toolen in the second half for an easy 65-33 victory.
