Class 1A No. 1 St. Luke's built an eight-point halftime lead and kept control long enough to defeat Class 4A No. 7 Clarke County 51-47 and win the championship of the Clarke County Holiday Invitational.

Jewel Hill scored 17 points and Ashley Chapman added 14 for the Wildcats (9-3), who scored 22 points in the opening quarter.

Clarke County (9-2) got 10 points apiece from Shanda Pugh and Jordan Hollins, while LaJessica Rivers had eight points.

Jewel Hill scored 22 points, grabbed six rebounds and made five steals to lead Class 1A No. 1 St. Luke's to a 58-21 win over Thomasville at the Clarke County Holiday Tournament in Grove Hill.

Ashley Chapman added 14 points and six rebounds for the Wildcats (8-3).

Deiondria Williams led Thomasville with eight points.

St. Luke's will take on host Clarke County Saturday.
