Blake Fitzgerald caught five passes for 118 yards and a touchdown to lead host St. Luke's over Cottage Hill Christian. The Wildcats (7-3) amassed 392 total yards but struggled to score points with two interceptions, a lost fumble, and eight penalties for 60 yards.
Kesson Bettis opened the scoring for St. Luke's with a 2-yard touchdown run, ending the night with 74 yards on 14 carries. Cottage Hill responded with a Justin Henderson touchdown run from a yard out with 3:25 remaining in the first quarter. Henderson had a big night for the Warriors (0-10) with 106 rushing yards, 71 return yards, and 15 receiving yards, for 192 all-purpose yards.
The Wildcats quickly responded with a Luke Phillips to Fitzgerald 35-yard touchdown pass with 2:55 left in the quarter, but Cottage Hill tied it up before the first quarter expired with a 40-yard touchdown run by Henderson.
After the first quarter, neither team could manage any points until Thomas Stubblefield kicked the game-winning 18-yard field goal with only nine seconds left on the clock.
