Wildcats Capture 3rd Straight Area Championship!!

Baseball: St. Luke's 16-5, Fruitdale 1-0

Chris Enger had three doubles and three RBIs and Brandon Cook tossed a three-hitter as Class 1A No. 3 St. Luke's got an Area 1 win over visiting Fruitdale in the first game of a doubleheader.

Enger went 3-for-4 with three runs scored. Murphy Mostellar also had three RBIs and Drew Dismukes drove in two runs for the Wildcats.

Cook (3-2) allowed one run in four innings, walking two and striking out five.

In game two, Dismukes (2-2) pitched a one-hit shutout, walking one and striking out seven as St. Luke's (10-4, 3-0) completed the sweep.

Enger went 2-for-3 with an RBI and pitched two scoreless innings in relief. Mostellar had a double, a triple, two RBIs and a run scored.

With the  two wins, the Wildcats capture their third straight Area Championship which guarantees them a birth in the playoffs, along with the opportunity to be the host site for the first round of the AHSAA 1A playoffs.
