Wildcats Open Season With Big Win

February 19, 2013
St. Lukes Episcopal School

The Wildcats started the season off with a big win over the 5A Satuma Gators Monday night in the opening game of the Hank Aaron Tournament at Baker High School.  The Wildcats opened scoring a run each of the first two innings while taking a 2-0 lead, however they lost a key player of the team in the first inning.  Shortstop Paul Williamson was lost to injury in the first inning after sliding in on a play at the plate injuring his ankle.  The on-site trainer's initial diagnosis was a sprained ankle, but unfortunately the xrays taken at the hospital revealed that Williamson broke the growth plate in his ankle.

Williamson's replacement was seventh grader Jeremiah Jackson, who entered the game and helped lead the Wildcats to the final two runs of the game as they won the contest 4-2.  The Wildcats play host Baker this evening at 6:30pm at Baker High School, followed by BC Rain on Wednesday at 4pm.
