St. Clair opened its boys soccer season last Thursday with a 1-1 tie at Montgomery County.

Because of the heat, the game was pushed back to a 6 p.m. start. There was no overtime

played because Montgomery County does not have lights.

Montgomery County scored 30 minutes into the game and led 1-0 at halftime.

The Bulldogs (0-0-1) tied the game with 15 minutes remaining in regulation on a goal by Mike Wright, assisted by Jacob Meisel.

“Meisel got the ball 25 yards from the goal and played a perfect pass to Wright, who put it in the corner of the goal,” said St. Clair Assistant Coach Tim Isgrig.

Tristan VanSickel, a sophomore, was in goal for St. Clair.

“Tristan played well in goal for his first varsity start,” said Isgrig.

St. Clair played Tuesday against Fatima and hosts North County at 5 p.m.
