The final score did not indicate how close it was.

St. Clair (7-14) dropped a boys basketball contest Tuesday at Waynesville, 61-36.

The Bulldogs trailed by just six points heading into the fourth quarter, where they saw the Tigers pull away.

Waynesville held a 27-17 halftime advantage.

“Offensive rebounds were the only reason they were ahead at halftime,” said St. Clair Head Coach Greg Dunigan. “We played better. There were a lot of positives for us. I thought we played hard.”

Adam Brott led the Bulldogs in the scoring column with 13 points. Neyko Dominguez finished the game with nine points. Evan Powell added eight points. Austin Gotway had five points.

St. Clair, 1-1 in the Four Rivers Conference, plays Friday at New Haven and hosts Pacific Tuesday at 6 p.m.
