State Competition 2014

March 7, 2014
By Ana Wibbenmeyer of St. Charles Danceline

Oh my....with all of those snow days off of school, we never thought we would be able to finish learning our pom routine. Well with the dedication these girls have, we were able to pull it off! The new routine looked awesome, had tons of energy, and was a very technical dance.

We listened to the judges critiques from Lindbergh and made some changes to our kick routine. The changes were all looking good and the girls were feeling confident.

Now we were ready to travel to Kansas City, MO to the Kemper Arena for the State Competition. We traveled there with St. Charles West Dance & Drill and settled in Friday night. Saturday we did hair and make-up, thanks to Lori Wootten and LaDonna Schulte, and were ready to perform. Going through inspections the girls started to get a little nervous, but then I think the excitement! They performed their kick routine first and did a wonderful job, but we knew we had some tough teams to compete against. Then we performed pom which the girls were getting really pumped to do. Watching the girls do their pom routine was the highlight of my day.....the facials and energy that they brought to the floor was amazing! I couldn't have been more proud of them no matter how they placed.

Then it was time for awards.......

2nd in the 2A Kick Division

2nd in the 2A Pom Division

7th in the 2A Category for State!!!

CONGRATS GIRLS....YOU MADE YOUR COACHES PROUD!!
