Home » Boys' Swimming & Diving NewsFormer Spruce Creek swimmer building brand ahead of GamesJuly 26, 2012 Spruce Creek High SchoolFormer Spruce Creek swimmer building brand ahead of Games By Brent Woronoff, Staff writer One of Ryan Lochte's latest commercials starts in a swimming pool, of course. But soon, he is careening in reverse in a Nissan Altima around the sharp turns of a brick walkway on the University of Florida's campus. Actor Robert Downey Jr. provides the voiceover: "Ryan Lochte is one of the most innovative backstroke swimmers in the world. But can Ryan go backwards through our course in the new Nissan Altima without knocking over a single cone?" We won't spoil the punch line, but we will tell you that Lochte isn't actually behind the wheel. The small print says, "Professional driver in a closed course. Do not attempt." The commercial's closing line is: "It's the most innovative Lochte and the most innovative Altima ever."
