Welcome to the National Sportsmanship Awards – a one-of-a-kind event celebrating all that’s right in sports. Produced annually in St. Louis by the St. Louis Sports Commission, the National Sportsmanship Awards honors the best sportsmanship stories, moments and people of the past year. The event showcases extraordinary examples of class and character by athletes, coaches and sports personalities from across the country. Representing all levels of sports – pro, college, high school and youth – award 
recipients are recognized for their integrity, selflessness, kindness, and perseverance.  Those in attendance are treated to an incredibly emotional, uplifting and entertaining program. 

The National Sportsmanship Awards is the signature event of the St. Louis Sports Commission’s Sportsmanship Initiative, which seeks to make St. Louis a model community for good sportsmanship and create positive environments for kids to play sports so they remain active and lead healthier, happier lives. Through several innovative platforms, the Sportsmanship Initiative informs and inspires those involved in youth sports. It reaches out to coaches, parents, fans and young athletes to make youth sports more enjoyable and to reinforce the values of respect, civility, selflessness and integrity at all levels. The National Sportsmanship Awards serves as a high-profile platform to instill the values of sportsmanship on and off the playing field while showcasing outstanding role models.
