Faces in the Crowd

Chance Bukoski
Kapaa, Hawaii > Soccer

Bukoski, a senior striker at Hawaii Pacific, scored on a penalty kick to seal the Sea Warriors' first men's soccer PacWest title, ending a streak of three second-place finishes with a 3-0 win over BYU Hawaii. Named the PacWest player of the year, Bukoski was third in Division II with a career-high 18 goals and became the conference's alltime leading scorer, with 51 career goals. He was named an All-America by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Evelyn Tripp
Piedmont, S.C. > Cross-Country

Tripp, a 95-year-old grandmother of nine, was named USA Track and Field's masters long distance runner of the year in the women's 90-and-up age group for the fourth straight time. Tripp, who took up walking as rehab at 82 after she was injured in a car accident and then progressed to running, set a pending national 5K record for women 95-and-over with a time of 48:45 at the Reedy River Run in Greenville, S.C., in March. She holds the state 5K record for women ages 85-89, 90-94 and 95-99.

Matt Lipscomb
Decatur, Ga. > Cycling

Matt, a homeschooled senior, won three national track cycling titles as a member of the Hincapie Development squad in 2011: two in the team pursuit event, at elite track nationals in September and at junior track nationals in July, where he also won the all-around omnium title, setting a national record in the flying lap with a time of 14.392. He was also part of the national record-setting U.S. junior national squad in team pursuit at the junior track world championships in August (4:17.678).

Sam Barker
Temperance, Mich. > Soccer

Barker, a sophomore forward at Division III Adrian College, led all divisions of college soccer -- men's and women's -- with 13 game-winning goals, to pace the Bulldogs to their first Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association regular-season championship in the program’s 23 years. Her 25 goals and 57 points led the conference and were single-season school records, and her 101 career points also set a school mark. Barker was named the MIAA conference MVP.

Craig Cheney
Sherwood, Ore. > Water Polo

Cheney, a sophomore utility player at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, led the Engineers with 50 goals to earn first-team All-Northern Division honors from the Collegiate Water Polo Association. On defense he had team-high marks in steals (52) and ejections drawn (59) to create 6-on-5 offensive advantages. Last season he scored 49 goals for the second-highest freshman mark in program history and was named the conference rookie of the year.

Kadie Rolfzen
Papillion, Neb. > Volleyball

Kadie, a 6'3" fraternal twin and junior outside hitter at Papillion-LaVista South High, led the Titans to their second straight Class A state title -- and 82nd straight win over two seasons -- with a 3-0 sweep of Burke High. She was named the state Gatorade volleyball player of the year, a title won by her sister, Amber, last season. Kadie is a Nebraska recruit and a member of USA Volleyball's girls' youth national team.
