CATS WIN AREA CHAMPIONSHIP!

HOUSTON, Tx - The Splendora Wildcat Baseball Team accomplished something that no other baseball team in the school's history has ever done - Win a 3A Region III Area Championship.

     The 'Cats beat Houston Furr in Game 1, 11-4 and then on Saturday, Splendora Handled the Brahmans, 7-0 in Game 2.  The Wildcats will play Silsbee in a Texas State Playoff 3A Regional Quarterfinal game still to be determined as to where and when.

     Dave Rauch had 2 hits, including a 3 RBI double which sailed over the right fielder's head off the base of the wall in the 2nd inning.   Rauch earlier had a RBI single in the 1st inning.  Right fielder Kolby Reed continued his hot hitting, scorching a double down the left field line and picked up a RBI.

     Matt Adams started the game and pitched 3 innings, allowing 1 hit while striking out 2 batters.  Justin Reid then came in and threw 4 innings of 1 hit ball as well, striking out 7 Brahman hitters.

     The Wildcats had 10 hits and did not commit an error on defense.  Splendora is now 21-5 on the season.
