Wildcats win 2 on Friday

Splendora High School



FRANKLIN, Tx - Franklin High School's 32 Team Tournament is one of the largest in the state.  Combine that with 7 beautiful fields, some nice weather and plenty of great plays makes this tournament a favorite of many teams here.

      Splendora won both of their games on Friday. In game 1, Splendora defeated the Trinity Tigers by a score of 10-0. Pitcher Josh Mendez got the win on the bump for the 'Cats, going the distance and allowing 2 hits while striking out 4 Tiger batters. 

     Center fielder Aaron Smalley led Splendora at the plate, going 2-4 with 2RBI and 2 stolen bases. Dave Rauch had a RBI single in the first inning to put Splendora on the board. The Wildcats had a 7 run fifth inning as Smalley, Kolby Reed, Ty Nixon, Casey Barron, Matt Adams, TJ Wilson & Diego Prieto all scored.  

     In game 2, Splendora came from 2 runs down to spank Palestine, 10-2.  Nixon had 2 RBI, and Rauch, Justin Reid, Barron and Prieto had hits for the 'Cats . Justin Reid picked up the win for Splendora, striking out 7 while issuing 5 walks and 3 hits.  

    The Wildcats are now. 8-2 on the season.
