The Wildcat Boy's soccer team traveled to Lumberton, Tx. Tuesday night to take on the second place RaidersWhile the Raiders held home field advantage the Cat's seemed right at home by scoring the games first goal in the 4th minute. Luis Garcia put the ball into the back of the net on a beautiful shot to the right post.  Lumberton setteled down and made a game of it by tying the score at 1- all leading into the half-time break. Storm clouds came in and brought rain as the second half started. The Wildcats started the half by controlling the ball and pressing the Raiders into a defensive posture. Midway through the half, Jorge Garcia was taken down in the penalty area and the Cats were awarded a penalty kick. Abe Lopez drilled the ball past the Lumberton keeper. Cat's 2, Raiders 1. Playing with a sense of urgency the Raiders attempted the comeback, but the Wildcat defense turned the Raiders away repeatedly. Keeper Saul Soria, defenders Eric Serrano, Abe Lopez, Gabriel Luna, Josue Santos and Cristian Acosta battled hard to keep Lumberton off stride. In the games 65th minute Chris Melendez ripped the 3rd goal for Wildcats from outside the 18 yard box to seal the deal for the Wildcats. Midfielders, Luis Garcia, Ramiro Ortuno, Jose Zepeda and the forward line of Melendez, Jorge Garcia and Daniel Ulgarde pressed forward all evening as the Wildcats improved to 8-0-0 in dustrict play. Final Splendora 3, Lumberton 1. The Wildcats next match is this Friday at 5:00 in Wildcat Stadium against Hardin-Jefferson.
