Splendora High School



The Splendora Wildcat Varsity dropped their first pool game to TWCA 3-2 in 7 innings on Friday, despite out hitting TWCA.  The Cats responded nicely by winning their next 3 games.  Later on Friday, the Wildcat 9 beat Ft Worth Christian, 10-2.  Saturday, the Cats won their first game 12-6, and whipped St Johns of Houston 8-0, behind a strong pitching performance by Justin Reid, Jordan Connell and Josh Mendez.  Ty Nixon got the win in game 1 Saturday and Jordan Connell notched the victory on Friday night. Matt Jacquinot struck out 9 and walked no one in game 1.

The Wildcats hit several doubles as Dylan Jacobs, Ty Nixon, Casey Barron, Matt Jacquinot, Kolby Reed and Jake Gollihar all ripped 2-baggers.  The Wildcats outscored their opponents 32-11 during the tournament.  The Cats return to action on Monday vs MCHS @ 7.

The Cats then travel North to Cooper/Commerce, Texas, for the Highway 24 Classic.

 

The Splendora JV Baseball team won the Tarkington JV Tournament by beating Hardin Jefferson, 9-2 and blasting Cleveland, 23-1.  The JV is 2-0 on the young season and play MCHS on Monday at 4:30 in Splendora. Way to go Cats!
