Tarkington tied the game at 13 all with 1:30 left in the game. Brandon Galloway scored a quick bucket and Austin Stapleton added a free throw to return the lead to the Wildcats. Kostas Barker iced the Wildcat 18-13 win with a layup in the waning seconds. The 8th B team continued the wave, winning 37-14. The smoothering Wildcat defense paved the way for the scoring machine. Josh Hayden led all scorers with 10 points. The “Cats achieved their season high in both points with 37 and three pointers with 3. The 7th A team also took the Shorthorns 37-13. Zayne Day posted 15 points to pace the Wildcats. The 7A’s 37 points were their high too. Last night’s game was a huge difference form the previous game versus Tarkington. The Wildcats won that one too, however, only 13-10. They are playing great team defense and improving daily offensively. The 8th A team suffered the only defeat of the night, losing 37-31. The last time they played Tarkington, they lost by 21 points. This team improves every day. “This bunch of kids are the hardest working group I have ever had. Our team goals are about reaching our potential, not only this year, but into high school too.” The Wildcats shot 75% from the free throw, the best of the year. The scoring was spread out among the team, with 8 of the 11 players scoring. Dustyn Millican was high scorer with 2 field goals and a three point shot that was a big boost late in the game.
