Young Season Looking Bright

By Greg Scharer of Splendora High SchoolThe Splendora High School Cross Country Teams continue to improve each week.
This past Saturday at Tarkington the Ladycats won the meet with a team low of 33 . Leading the way was Ruby Martinez winning the race with a 13:02 two mile time. Clarisa Ochoa took 3rd place, Tanya Alvarado 7th, Patty Olvera 8th, Kimberly Ramos 17th and Camille Poffinbarger 21st.
The Varsity Boys team took 5th Place out of eleven teams. The leading runner was Drayton Thompson coming in 10th place with a 19:17 5K time. Tyler Payne came in 29th, Drew King 30th, Jermiah Johnson 31st, Joe Aldridge 34th, Harley Hnatek 40th and Chris Eason 63rd.
The Junior Varsity Ladycats ran well. Abby Bagley won the two mile race with a 14:53. Eda Hnatek was 7th, Elizabeth Sacucedo 10th and Marleen Martinez 23rd.
The Cross Country teams travel to Willis on Thursday Sept 20th. We will be running a Misty Meadows Park.
