By Brian Kalish September 8, 2012 Stevens Point– The SPASH girls cross country team turned in a strong performance at the SPASH invitational on Saturday, claiming first place in in the varsity and JV races, respectively. On the varsity level, SPASH’s top five runners combined for a 1:20:00.5 time to best second place Beaver Dam (1:20:50:1) and third place DC Everest (1:22:40:9). Head coach Mike Olson was pleased with his team’s performance. “This was a great meet for us,” Olson said. ”On varsity, we were able to beat our arch rivals Wausau West and DC Everest.
