Spartan bowlers take regional title

South Warren High School captured the second regional championship in the school’s three-year athletics history January 26, winning the Region 1 crown in boys’ bowling. The Spartan bowlers defeated Graves County 3-2 in the championship match in Paducah. Earlier, South Warren advanced with victories over Greenwood and Warren East. The SWHS boys’ bowling team, coached by Matt Deaton, advances to the Ebonite/KHSAA State Bowling Championship, scheduled for February 7-8 in Louisville.

South Warren freshman Kaleb Miller won the individual regional championship, defeating Warren East’s Zack Long 233-192 in the final match. Long will also move on to the state tournament as an individual.

SWHS team members, in addition to Miller, advancing to the state tournament: Seth Lloyd, Jakob Radford, Jacob Vaughn, Dylan Holthaus, Tristan Sago, Jonathan Adcock, Travis Tattar, Kolby Martin, Bryce King, Donovan Henry, and Braden Fowler.
