Home » Dance Team NewsCougarettes at the Orange BowlJanuary 18, 2011 Southview High SchoolThe Cougarettes were contacted by the Director of Halftime for the Orange Bowl last March after one of the judges from the state competition told her abour our team. She invited us down to Miami, Florida to perform in the seven minute halftime show. The Cougarettes had to learn the two routines from a DVD before leaving on New Years Eve. While down there, all of the teams had tp perform the routines in front of the choreographers, directors, and producers. The Cougarettes were chosen out of all 600 dancers to dance on the 50 yard line directly in front of the band. Besides rehearsing for the show, they also had the opportunity to take classes from nationally known choreographers who have worked on major motion pictures and with some of the most well known musical artist in the world such as Michael Jackson and Lady Gaga. It was a once in a lifetime experience for all of the dancers and an incredible memory for the Cougarettes.
