The Manvel Mavericks

The Manvel Mavericks could sneak up on the Class 4A powers and win a state championship this season. The Mavs won district a year ago and reached the fourth-round of the playoffs before bowing out to Huntsville.

Sure Manvel returns leading scorers from a year ago Jade Castille and Olivia Madison, but the Mavs welcome one of the nation’s top players to the fold. Westbury Christian-transfer Brianna Turner is a 6-foot-2 national recruit, who will explode onto the public school scene as a sophomore. Throw in incoming freshman future star Jordan Hosey and the Mavericks will be a pleasant surprise to everyone.
