While she plays down south of Houston for Bay City High School, Andrea Hawkins could be the region's top softball recruit.

The University of Alabama-commit is a bona fide star on the softball field and will be name to remember as national softball coverage expands with the popularity of the sport. Her senior goals are to hit over .600 and make all-state this year.

She can slap-hit, bunt and hit for power, but her speed sets her apart.

"My best softball moments were playing in the Under Armour All-American Game and being selected to the Junior National Team," she said.
