He finished 12 strokes ahead of second place. Monday, May 14th, Sulman finished alone in first place after scoring a 2-under-par 72. The first round total and 1-stroke lead on second place would have been enough to pressure most people into losing focus on day two. Tuesday, however, Sulman kept his eyes on the prize scoring a 7-under-par 65, which tied the previous state record for lowest round by an individual champion, set in the 2006 Class 4A tournament. Altogether Raza's final score of 135 matched the third lowest score in state history and fell just two strokes short of the record 133, set in the 1995 Class 4A tournament. Sulmans teammates Jacob Henderson, Tommy Fruin, and Paul Picado-Curtis finished T19 (156), T32 (161), and T44 (166) respectively. The South Eugene group finished second in the state team tournament.
