South Eugene's Erin Clark & Paige Kouba finish 2nd/3rd in Girl's 3000m OSAA State final

South Eugene junior Erin Clark ran a gallant race to finish less than 2 seconds behind Paige Rice of St. Mary's Academy in the OSAA Girl's 3000m race on the first day of the OSAA State Track Meet in Eugene, Oregon. Named 6A Special District 1
Baseball Player of the Year
South Eugene Junior, Joe Schindler has been named the 6A Special District 1, baseball Player of the Year. The award is voted on by the baseball coaches of the 6A Special District 1. Joe was a first team pitcher, as well as, a first team infielder. As a pitcher, he finished with a 10-3 record and a 2.07 era. As a hitter, Joe hit .472 on the season.
Joining Schindler with all-league honors was senior Max Morrison, second team infield, sophomore Kai Delap second team outfield, and senior Ben Giland honorable mention catcher.

Congratulations To Sulman Raza, The 2012 OSAA State Champion, And The SEHS Boys Golf Team For Finishing 2nd In The Team Rankings!
Tuesday, May 15, Emerald Valley Golf Course and Resort -- Sulman Raza shot a round two score of 7-under-par 65. His two round combined score of 135 is 9-under-par.

 2012 Hall of Fame Awards Dinner
 Eugene, Hilton Hotel - The 2012 South Eugene Athletics Hall of Fame dinner was held on Saturday, May 5, at the Eugene Hilton Hotel. Over 250 guests attended the second annual event to witness the class of 2012 HOF nominees be inducted into the Axemen Hall of Fame. Inductees included legendary coaches, Hank Kuchera (men's basketball) and women's multi-sport coach, Nan Wicox. Athletes included Mike Moran (class of 1955, men's basketball), Mark Fieg (Class of 1971, Cross Country and Tack), Judi Shirk (Class of 1970, gymnastics), Bruce Hoyt (Class of 1967, gymnastics), Dan Wilkens (Class of 1981, Football, Basketball, Track and Field), Mark Quinney (Class of 1988, men's tennis), Jeff Quinney (Class of 1997, men's golf), and Megan Nelson (Class of 2000, women's soccer, basketball, track and field). The team inducted was the 1998 Men's State Championship Soccer Team captained by Nate Jaqua. Nate Jaqua was also awarded his plaque for being inducted into the Axemen Hall of Fame last year. Besides the award ceremonies, the guests were lead in the infamous, "Give 'em the Axe!" cheer by the South Eugene Cheer Squad which brought back wonderful memories of the long history of this great school.

SOUTH EUGENE SOCCER CAMP
Youth Soccer - 2012 South Eugene Soccer Camp for boys and girls entering grades 1-8 will be held June 18-22, from 9am-2pm Monday-Thursday and 9am-noon Friday on the South Eugene Turf Field. Cost is $125 for the first child and $110 for each additional sibling. cost includes a T-shirt and a soccer ball.
