Senior Skip Day
April 30, 2014By Hilario Duarte of South Houston High School
Senior skip day is right around the corner, this event is usually held the Friday before prom and the Monday after. These days are set aside for the preparation and recovery from prom weekend. Although students are in no way excused for these days a large portion of the student body participates. There are plenty of precautions to take; no one wants to get caught red handed.
In no way are we encouraging any of you to participate in this event. If you do chose to, please make prudent decisions.
TIPS FOR SKIPPING:
Avoid traveling in large groups. Two to three people will suit the situation best.
Plan where your destinations. Everything will go smother if you know where you are going.
Plan the time you will spend at each place. Do not let your time go to waste.
Avoid clustered areas. Folks begin to assume things that aren’t always true.
Do not draw attention to yourself. Try and keep everything you do as discreet as possible.
Try not to carry a backpack and if you do leave it somewhere obscure. Most people will assume that someone with a backpack is a student.
Dress casual. It is best to feel comfortable in what you are wearing, but don’t make it seem like you’re on your way to rob a drug store.
The most important tip of all is to be PRODUCTIVE. Don’t ditch your education just for the heck of it.
