Event planned to help critically injured SoHo sophomore

On Easter weekend, South Houston High School student, Horacio Landa, was involved in a terrible car accident in Paras Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
The SHHS sophomore was visiting relatives in Mexico and was on his way back home when the truck he was travelling in got into an accident. Sources say no other vehicles were involved in the crash, and circumstances surrounding the accident has still not been made clear to the Torch Online Newspaper.
Landa, a passenger, was seated in the middle of the truck, and asleep when the accident according to sources. He was transported to the hospital and put on life support according to close friends who spoke to his cousin, also a SHHS student.
Two other males in the truck with Landa also survived, but suffered serious injuries and broken bones.
Friends say Landa has been in an induced-coma for several days and is still in the hospital in Mexico as of April 25th. They say he was recently placed off of life support and his condition has stabilized, though still critical.
Family and friends are planning a benefit to help him cover medical expenses. They say any amount raised would help his family greatly.
There will be a car wash and plates of barbecue will be sold. Of course donations will be gladly accepted.
