Orchestra Solo & Ensemble
April 18, 2014By Brittany Villacorta of South Houston High School
On Saturday, April 12th, SOHO orchestra students went to Pasadena Memorial High School, in order to compete at Solo & Ensemble. The students were from both Varsity and Sub-Varsity Orchestra. Both soloists and ensembles played one song and were judged from a 1, being the best ranking, to a 5, being the worst. The ranking depended on tone, tuning, style, and many other details. Many soloists and emsembles received a 1 and received a medal as a prize. "It was a great experience. It really challenges you, and it really lets you know what your strengths and weaknesses are", said Gilda Marcos, a junior.
