On January 22nd, the administrators from PISD's new Career and Technical High School visited South Houston High to interview their potential prospects for the 2014/2015 school year.
As it turns out, CTHS is looking for students who already have an idea for their future and are making steps to reach their goals. For example: You want to be a doctor and you're currently enrolled in HOSA. This school is for serious students who want to graduate with enough credentials to start an immediate career.
However, it's not all work and no play. The students will transport back to their original campuses for extracurricular, such as band, choir, etc. However, you can't participate in more than one, so you might have to sacrifice something to get something. Hey, opportunity costs.
