Hall of Honor Dedication
October 2, 2013By Christian Jones of South Houston High School
Last night, October 1st, was the Hall of Honor Dedication for South Houston High School's former teachers and administrators. The program was to take the time to pay our respects to the people who have worked so hard to make South Houston what it is today.
The program started around 6:00 P.M, and everyone who walked through the door recieved badges with their names. The inductees of the hall of honor (or their family if the inductees were deceased) recieved a red rose. All of the guest then retreated to the Reinartz for snacks and to mingle with their old friends.
Later the inductees took their place on stage in the auditorium, and they were all honored by previous students commenting and appreciating what their teachers have done for them. Even Margaret Lodge, who will be reaching her 100th birthday in December, attended the festivites.
Finally, it was time for the unveiling of the Hall of Honor (which can be located in E-hall). A few gasps were heard and a couple of tears were shed as the inductees looked on with pride at the Hall of Honor. It was a joyous occasion for everyone who was present and hopefully South Houston will add more teachers to their prestigious hall.
