Home » General NewsTeacher Feature!January 23, 2013 By Christian Jones of South Houston High SchoolMs. Debbie McNabb, a biology teacher at SoHo, is our Teacher Feature for the week. Wanting to know more about her, we asked about how she became a teacher in the first place. She says that this profession was not her first choice and that she studied to become a veterinarian. Later, she had a change of heart and adopted the idea of becoming a biology teacher to inspire students, just as her biology teacher had inspired her. Even though she leads a hectic life (it took forever to arrange an interview with her), she still finds time to explore her hobbies such as insects, photography, and traveling. She truly is someone who tries to live every day to the fullest. Sadly, she will be retiring at the end of this year after about 30 years of teaching. She is planning to come back as a substitute teacher.
