SHHS Soccer Goalie Scores a Major Scholarship
December 5, 2012By Richard Adams of South Houston High School
SHHS Senior, Victoria DePaola, is not just any ordinary girl; she is a super awesome soccer player who plans on taking her legs to the next level. Victoria, who plays goalie, has been on SoHo’s varsity team ever since her freshman year, which really shows how talented she is. Ever since the age of four, soccer has been in Victoria’s life and has helped her learn to be a strong, competitive hardworker. A few days ago she got word that all of her hard work had paid off. With the help from the athletics program, word of her talent has reached all the way over to Montana where she is being offered a $50,000 scholarship to play for the University of Great Falls. Although she is very excited about this opportunity, leaving her family in Texas will be a great challenge for her to overcome. It's no doubt Victoria DePaola has a clear mind and a bright future. She is sure to be one of SoHo’s best; and maybe one day she will become one of the "Greats". Victoria has two other sisters. Her younger sister, Colleen, is a freshman at SHHS and her mother, Stacey DePaola, teaches English.
