Something Worth Debating
November 12, 2012By Clarissa Marroquin of South Houston High School
The South Houston Debate Team hosted their 2nd annual “Trojan Pride” debate tournament this weekend. A total of 28 schools participated in this event, including the other Pasadena schools, Dobie, Memorial and Pasadena. Students competed in various events, such as Public Forum debate, Congressional debate, Lincoln-Douglas debate, Duet Acting, and Original Oratory. The three schools that won the most categories were Alief Kerr High School, A&M Consolidated High School, and Clear Creek High School. The two day tournament was enjoyed by everyone, and everyone who took a part in it had fun. The debate team worked extremely hard to make the tournament a success, and they would like to thank the volunteers who participated, as well as all of the faculty and staff of South Houston who made it all possible.
