Home » General NewsCommunities In SchoolSeptember 27, 2012 By Richard Adams of South Houston High SchoolTo those of you who do not know Mr. Matt Rogers he is the guy who's job is to make your high school experience better. He is basically a social worker in charge of a great program called Communities in School (C.I.S.). CIS's goal is to provide students with a safe space to help them deal with difficult personal problems in and outside of school. Being at SOHO for the last six years has allowed him to he assist a lot of students. Everything students tell him is confidential, unless there's an immediate threat on their lives. Mr. Matt has been fortunate to see many of them pass and graduate from different colleges all over the country. His hopes for C.I.S. is to help students mature into strong, independent, and well-educated men and women who will one day pass their skills on to others. Mr. Matt's room is F102 so if you ever want to talk or just need a friend his room is always open.
