Volleyball team focusing on gaining experience over getting wins

May 5, 2014
By Nick Holland of Southport High School

The boys volleyball team lost to Cathedral in straight sets on April 30. Despite the loss each game was closely fought.

The team then faced off with Franklin Community in their last home match of the year. The team failed to register a win, again losing in straight sets.

Coach Mr. Joe Leonard says that the team is working on spreading around varsity playing time in order to get more people more opportunities to improve.

“We are putting everyone in different places to find out what works and who can really excel where,” Leonard said.

The team hopes that their variations in lineups will pay off for the home stretch of the season starting tonight with Noblesville. The team will travel to Noblesville for a scheduled game at 6 p.m.

Come out and support the team as they look for a win to start off the final run of the season.
