Baseball team loses both parts of doubleheader

April 25, 2014
Southport High School

The boys baseball team lost both games of their double header against Decatur Central last Saturday. The first game was 7-0 and the second was 5-2.

The Cards had trouble with giving away free bases. In both games combined the Cards walked 15 and hit one. They had a total of only 13 hits, one RBI and one double. Top hitters of the day were junior Dennis Maxey and sophomore James Sheets, both with three hits.

“We didn’t do well in anything Saturday, we walked too many people and didn’t hit very well,” head coach Scott Whitlock said.

The boys next game will be tomorrow Friday, April 25 against coach Whitlock’s former school, Lawrence North.

Come out and support your Cards.
