Girls swimming team gets first, boys finish second in double-dual meet

February 4, 2014
Southport High School

The Cards swimming team participate in a double-dual meet last week, Thursday, Jan. 30.  The meet was against Lawrence Central and Warren Central.  The Lady Cards beat both LC and WC, but the boys only beat LC.  Assistant coach Mr. Josef Horvath thought the meet went really well for the girls and the guys did alright.

“Almost every girl got a Personal Best in all their events,” Horvath said.  “The boys also swam well, but didn’t get any PB’s like the girls.”

It was senior night at the meet where the Cards honored the four seniors on the team.  The seniors were James Paden, Joseph Morris, Alex McSwain and Ashley Macy.

The boys next meet is tonight, Feb. 4, against Columbus North.  The girls next meet is this Thursday, Feb. 4.  It is their Sectional meet.

Come out and support the Cards in their efforts against Columbus North.
