Girls basketball team falls to Columbus North

February 3, 2014
Southport High School

The girls basketball team lost to Columbus North here at home, 85-57 last Friday, Feb. 1. It was the turnovers that really made it hard for the Lady Cards to win. They had a total of 27. Their total FG percentage was 45. Lead scorer of the night was junior Shayla Wright with 16 points making four of her six 3-pointers. Following right behind her was senior Molly Bridges 12 points. Columbus North out rebounded the Lady Cards 29 to 21. They also made 34 points off of turnovers

“We need to work on making clearer passes to cut down on turnovers, as well as taking better shots,” head coach Ms. Leah Enterline said.

The Lady Cards next game is Thursday, Feb. 6 vs. Mooresville. The Lady Cards will be the host and the game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
