Basketball team looks to take on star-less FC team

January 22, 2014
Southport High School

After a series of away games, the boys basketball team finally gets the chance to play at home against Franklin Central (FC) tonight, Jan. 22.

Last season when the Cards played FC, they suffered a 20 point loss, but it’s apparent the basketball program now is much better that it was last season.

“Franklin Central is a veteran team,” head coach Kyle Simpson said. “It will be a good challenge for the guys.”

Franklin has a number of tall players, so Simpson is making small alterations to the lineup in order to match the height difference.

Jalen Bell a senior for FC, who plays a key role in the team, and who also leads the conference in scoring, is injured and will not be playing in the game this evening. This could greatly impact the outcome of the game.

The game is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. in the Fieldhouse.

Come out and support the Cards as they take on the Flashes.
