Boys basketball team to face off with Perry Meridian

January 14, 2014
Southport High School

Tonight is the big night. The boys basketball team will travel to Perry Meridian to face their township rivals for the first round of the Marion County tournament. The winner of this game will move on to play the winner of North Central and Lawrence Central.

“I’m anxious about tonight,” head coach Mr. Kyle Simpson said. “Perry (Meridian) has playing pretty well, they’re well coached, and they have a nice team.”

This will be the first time these two teams meet this season. Southport suffered a disappointing loss on their home court last season, 50-39

According to Simpson, he likes where the team is heading, and thinks the rough schedule at the beginning of the season prepared the team not only for this game but for the rest of the month.

The game is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. and will be at Perry Meridian.

Come out and support the Cards as they face their cross-township rival.
