Girls swimming team suffers first loss v. Whiteland

December 16, 2013
Southport High School

Last Tuesday, Dec. 10, the Cards faced off against Whiteland who stood up to the challenge and gave the girls their first loss.  The team’s records are 3-1 for the girls and 0-4 for the boys.  According to assistant coach Mr. Josef Horvath, the meet went similar for both the boys and girls teams.

“We knew it was going to be a fight,” Horvath said.  “Our best performance just wasn’t there.  We just needed to dig a little deeper and I believe we could’ve won the meet.  They also had more people in more events.”

The Cards next meet is this Friday and Saturday, Dec. 20 and 21, over break.  The Cards will be participating in the Marion County tournament.  The tournament will be held at IUPUI and it is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, and 9 a.m. on Saturday.

Come out and support the Cardinal swimmers in their efforts at County.
